Skin care is very important; your skin is your bodies largest organ.

Below are some basic tips that allow your skin to be at its best, designed especially to stop razor bumps,

and irritation, itching and in some scenarios, major infections they cause.

Below is a list of simple steps, which help prevent razor bumps.

Wash your Face with Hot water –

Washing your face with hot water opens your pores allowing them to be cleanses.

Make this a part of your daily routine in order to prevent razor bumps. If you use a hot water or towel prior to shaving the heat helps to soften hair, making it easier to shave, further reducing chances for ingrown hair.

Choose the Right Shaving Cream –

Choosing the right shaving cream is crucial. Choose a cream which includes glycerin, aqua, stearic acid, potassium hydroxides and coconut acid, they have great lubricating properties. It's best to avoid creams containing benzocaine and menthol, these ingredients act as pore-clogging agents.

Use a Clean and Sharp Blade –

A dirty blade is very harmful to your skin. After shaving use an old tooth brush to clean between the blade(s). Invest in a clippercide to keep the blade(s) clean. Despite what commercials say, too many blades can cut below the skin line, irritating the skin, while increasing chances of ingrown hair and razor bumps. For most of us 1-3 blades are more than adequate, for me 2 works perfectly.

Directions –

Always shave in the direction of your hair growth. Shaving against the grain may give you a closer shave, but this can lead to ingrown hair and razor bumps. Using too much pressure while shaving isn’t good, this may cause skin irritation, bumps and ingrown hair.

Do not use any alcohol–based aftershaves, your skin absorbs about 60 percent of what you put on it. Balms are ideal because they are thicker, and use anti-inflammatory ingredients like shea butter or aloe. You can also use BumpBan which works to correct and prevent ingrown hair eliminating the razor bumps they cause.
